It covers the organisation of anesthesia services, surgical specialties and medical education and emphasises the patient's perspective during the perioperative process. The chapters "Solutions for Insufficient Epidural Analgesia for Planned Vaginal Birth" and "Interdisciplinary Emergencies in the Delivery Room" address current aspects of obstetric anaesthesia. "Anesthesia for Robotic Surgeries in Children" poses challenges, including patient positioning, restricted access for airway management and physiological changes due to the pneumoperitoneum. Adapted ventilation strategies are crucial for the safety of young patients. A forward-looking chapter, "Anesthetic Management of Bronchoscopic Lung Volume Reduction", investigates a minimally invasive treatment for severe COPD. The reduction in morbidity and mortality is an advantage of this method, but it harbours risks such as pneumothorax, which is why careful interdisciplinary care is required. "General Anaesthesia in the Context of Haemorrhagic Shock and Trauma" describes the negative effects on the patient's homeostasis. Individualised anaesthesia is essential to address the patient's specific physiological needs. The chapter "Anesthesiologic Management of Patients with Opioids or Psychoactive Substance Use" deals with a particularly demanding patient group. The chapters "Fascial Plane Blocks" and "Considerations and New Perspectives of Locoregional Anesthesia in Dentistry" convey exciting new aspects of regional anaesthesia. Finally, "The Effect of Parental Anxiety on Postoperative Paediatric Cognitive Dysfunction" addresses the psychological impact of surgery on children. High parental anxiety can delay the recovery process and cause long-term cognitive impairment.<br/><br/>Listed by <a href="https://unglue.it/work/1458312/">Unglue.it</a>.</div></Text></TextContent><SupportingResource><ResourceContentType>01</ResourceContentType><ContentAudience>00</ContentAudience><ResourceMode>03</ResourceMode><ResourceVersion><ResourceForm>01</ResourceForm><ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceVersionFeatureType>01</ResourceVersionFeatureType><FeatureValue>D502</FeatureValue></ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceLink>https://tieulgnu.s3.amazonaws.com/cache/58/73/58738df13ba2f3912d9c4595441c29f5.jpg</ResourceLink></ResourceVersion></SupportingResource></CollateralDetail><PublishingDetail><Publisher><PublishingRole>01</PublishingRole><PublisherName>IntechOpen</PublisherName></Publisher><PublishingStatus>00</PublishingStatus><PublishingDate><PublishingDateRole>01</PublishingDateRole><Date>2025</Date></PublishingDate></PublishingDetail><ProductSupply><Market><Territory><RegionsIncluded>WORLD</RegionsIncluded></Territory></Market><SupplyDetail><Supplier><SupplierRole>11</SupplierRole><SupplierName>Unglue.it</SupplierName><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">pdf file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/672691/</WebsiteLink></Website></Supplier><ProductAvailability>20</ProductAvailability><Price><PriceType>01</PriceType><PriceAmount>0.00</PriceAmount><CurrencyCode>USD</CurrencyCode></Price></SupplyDetail></ProductSupply></Product><Product><RecordReference>it.unglue.work.580647.776658</RecordReference><NotificationType>03</NotificationType><ProductIdentifier><ProductIDType>01</ProductIDType><IDTypeName>unglue.it edition id</IDTypeName><IDValue>776658</IDValue></ProductIdentifier><DescriptiveDetail><ProductComposition>00</ProductComposition><ProductForm>ED</ProductForm><ProductFormDetail>E107</ProductFormDetail><EpubLicense><EpubLicenseName>CC BY</EpubLicenseName><EpubLicenseExpression><EpubLicenseExpressionType>01</EpubLicenseExpressionType><EpubLicenseExpressionLink>https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/</EpubLicenseExpressionLink></EpubLicenseExpression></EpubLicense><TitleDetail><TitleType>01</TitleType><TitleElement><TitleElementLevel>01</TitleElementLevel><TitleText>Epidural Administration</TitleText></TitleElement></TitleDetail><Contributor><SequenceNumber>1</SequenceNumber><ContributorRole>B01</ContributorRole><PersonName>Sotonye Fyneface-Ogan</PersonName><PersonNameInverted>Fyneface-Ogan, Sotonye</PersonNameInverted></Contributor><Language><LanguageRole>01</LanguageRole><LanguageCode>eng</LanguageCode></Language><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>20</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>Anaesthetics</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>20</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>Analgesia</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>20</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>Epidural Space</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>20</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>local anesthetics</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>04</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>medicine</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>20</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>Other branches of medicine</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>20</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>Pain</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>04</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>Pharmacology</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>20</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>Tissue Engineering</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><AudienceRange><AudienceRangeQualifier>17</AudienceRangeQualifier><AudienceRangePrecision>03</AudienceRangePrecision><AudienceRangeValue>18</AudienceRangeValue></AudienceRange></DescriptiveDetail><CollateralDetail><TextContent><TextType>03</TextType><ContentAudience>00</ContentAudience><Text textformat="05"><div>Epidural administration is used by physicians and nurse anesthetists to administer local anesthetic agents, analgesics, and diagnostic medicines such as radiocontrast agents, glucocorticoids and other medicines. The agent, when administered, can cause both a loss of sensation (anesthesia) and a loss of pain (analgesia), by reversibly interrupting the transmission of signals through nerves in or near the spinal cord. This form of pain relief has been found useful in many clinical situations. This book intends to provide an in-depth review of the current knowledge on epidural analgesia. The use of this form of analgesia is explored by contributors from different perspectives, including labor and delivery, postoperative analgesia in both pediatric and geriatric patients, and its role during anesthesia and surgery. In order to provide a balanced medical view this book was edited by an obstetric anesthesiologist.<br/><br/>Listed by <a href="https://unglue.it/work/486301/">Unglue.it</a>.</div></Text></TextContent><SupportingResource><ResourceContentType>01</ResourceContentType><ContentAudience>00</ContentAudience><ResourceMode>03</ResourceMode><ResourceVersion><ResourceForm>01</ResourceForm><ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceVersionFeatureType>01</ResourceVersionFeatureType><FeatureValue>D502</FeatureValue></ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceLink>https://tieulgnu.s3.amazonaws.com/cache/12/12/121294234debb7bf3c02dfeb1bd96405.jpg</ResourceLink></ResourceVersion></SupportingResource></CollateralDetail><PublishingDetail><Publisher><PublishingRole>01</PublishingRole><PublisherName>IntechOpen</PublisherName></Publisher><PublishingStatus>00</PublishingStatus><PublishingDate><PublishingDateRole>01</PublishingDateRole><Date>2012</Date></PublishingDate></PublishingDetail><ProductSupply><Market><Territory><RegionsIncluded>WORLD</RegionsIncluded></Territory></Market><SupplyDetail><Supplier><SupplierRole>11</SupplierRole><SupplierName>Unglue.it</SupplierName><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">pdf file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/320722/</WebsiteLink></Website></Supplier><ProductAvailability>20</ProductAvailability><Price><PriceType>01</PriceType><PriceAmount>0.00</PriceAmount><CurrencyCode>USD</CurrencyCode></Price></SupplyDetail></ProductSupply></Product><Product><RecordReference>it.unglue.work.564728.755327</RecordReference><NotificationType>03</NotificationType><ProductIdentifier><ProductIDType>01</ProductIDType><IDTypeName>unglue.it edition id</IDTypeName><IDValue>755327</IDValue></ProductIdentifier><DescriptiveDetail><ProductComposition>00</ProductComposition><ProductForm>ED</ProductForm><ProductFormDetail>E107</ProductFormDetail><EpubLicense><EpubLicenseName>CC BY</EpubLicenseName><EpubLicenseExpression><EpubLicenseExpressionType>01</EpubLicenseExpressionType><EpubLicenseExpressionLink>https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/</EpubLicenseExpressionLink></EpubLicenseExpression></EpubLicense><TitleDetail><TitleType>01</TitleType><TitleElement><TitleElementLevel>01</TitleElementLevel><TitleText>Ketamine Revisited</TitleText></TitleElement></TitleDetail><Contributor><SequenceNumber>1</SequenceNumber><ContributorRole>B01</ContributorRole><PersonName>Nieves Sáiz-Sapena</PersonName><PersonNameInverted>Sáiz-Sapena, Nieves</PersonNameInverted></Contributor><Contributor><SequenceNumber>2</SequenceNumber><ContributorRole>B01</ContributorRole><PersonName>Manuel Granell-Gil</PersonName><PersonNameInverted>Granell-Gil, Manuel</PersonNameInverted></Contributor><Language><LanguageRole>01</LanguageRole><LanguageCode>eng</LanguageCode></Language><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>20</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>Anaesthetics</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>04</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>medicine</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>20</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>Other branches of medicine</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><AudienceRange><AudienceRangeQualifier>17</AudienceRangeQualifier><AudienceRangePrecision>03</AudienceRangePrecision><AudienceRangeValue>18</AudienceRangeValue></AudienceRange></DescriptiveDetail><CollateralDetail><TextContent><TextType>03</TextType><ContentAudience>00</ContentAudience><Text textformat="05"><div>In the past, ketamine was considered a dangerous medication with the potential for abuse as a recreational drug. It has been extensively revised and updated by the experts of this network to provide a unique and reliable content in one single volume.</p>
<p>Throughout the book, attention is given to the difficult question of how to provide best practice in countries where the discipline of geriatric medicine is not well established and resources for secondary prevention are scarce. The revised and updated chapters on the epidemiology of hip fractures, osteoporosis, sarcopenia, surgery, anaesthesia, medical management of frailty, peri-operative complications, rehabilitation and nursing are supplemented by six new chapters. These include an overview of the multidisciplinary approach to fragility fractures and new contributions on pre-hospital care, treatment in the emergency room, falls prevention, nutrition and systems for audit. The reader will have an exhaustive overview and will gain essential, practical knowledge on how best to manage fractures in elderly patients and how to develop clinical systems that do so reliably.</p><br/><br/>Listed by <a href="https://unglue.it/work/464062/">Unglue.it</a>.</div></Text></TextContent><SupportingResource><ResourceContentType>01</ResourceContentType><ContentAudience>00</ContentAudience><ResourceMode>03</ResourceMode><ResourceVersion><ResourceForm>01</ResourceForm><ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceVersionFeatureType>01</ResourceVersionFeatureType><FeatureValue>D502</FeatureValue></ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceLink>https://tieulgnu.s3.amazonaws.com/cache/34/8a/348a5184c770b9da62ec6857f58f888d.jpg</ResourceLink></ResourceVersion></SupportingResource></CollateralDetail><PublishingDetail><Publisher><PublishingRole>01</PublishingRole><PublisherName>Springer</PublisherName></Publisher><PublishingStatus>00</PublishingStatus><PublishingDate><PublishingDateRole>01</PublishingDateRole><Date>2021</Date></PublishingDate></PublishingDetail><ProductSupply><Market><Territory><RegionsIncluded>WORLD</RegionsIncluded></Territory></Market><SupplyDetail><Supplier><SupplierRole>11</SupplierRole><SupplierName>Unglue.it</SupplierName><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">pdf file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/274879/</WebsiteLink></Website><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">mobi file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/272304/</WebsiteLink></Website><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">epub file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/272129/</WebsiteLink></Website></Supplier><ProductAvailability>20</ProductAvailability><Price><PriceType>01</PriceType><PriceAmount>0.00</PriceAmount><CurrencyCode>USD</CurrencyCode></Price></SupplyDetail></ProductSupply></Product><Product><RecordReference>it.unglue.work.615091.823755</RecordReference><NotificationType>03</NotificationType><ProductIdentifier><ProductIDType>01</ProductIDType><IDTypeName>unglue.it edition id</IDTypeName><IDValue>823755</IDValue></ProductIdentifier><ProductIdentifier><ProductIDType>03</ProductIDType><IDValue>9783031422058</IDValue></ProductIdentifier><DescriptiveDetail><ProductComposition>00</ProductComposition><ProductForm>ED</ProductForm><ProductFormDetail>E101</ProductFormDetail><EpubLicense><EpubLicenseName>CC BY</EpubLicenseName><EpubLicenseExpression><EpubLicenseExpressionType>01</EpubLicenseExpressionType><EpubLicenseExpressionLink>https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/</EpubLicenseExpressionLink></EpubLicenseExpression></EpubLicense><TitleDetail><TitleType>01</TitleType><TitleElement><TitleElementLevel>01</TitleElementLevel><TitleText>Rational Use of Intravenous Fluids in Critically Ill Patients</TitleText></TitleElement></TitleDetail><Contributor><SequenceNumber>1</SequenceNumber><ContributorRole>A01</ContributorRole><PersonName>Manu L.N.G. It constitutes a unique source of knowledge and guidance for all healthcare workers who care for patients with sepsis and septic shock in resource-limited settings. More than eighty percent of the worldwide deaths related to sepsis occur in resource-limited settings in low and middle-income countries. Current international sepsis guidelines cannot be implemented without adaptations towards these settings, mainly because of the difference in local resources and a different spectrum of infectious diseases causing sepsis. This prompted members of the Global Intensive Care working group of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) and the Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU, Bangkok, Thailand) - among which the Editors – to develop with an international group of experts a comprehensive set of recommendations for the management of sepsis in resource-limited settings. Recommendations are based on both current scientific evidence and clinical experience of clinicians working in resource-limited settings. The book includes an overview chapter outlining the current challenges and future directions of sepsis management as well as general recommendations on the structure and organization of intensive care services in resource-limited settings. Specific recommendations on the recognition and management of patients with sepsis and septic shock in these settings are grouped into seven chapters. The book provides evidence-based practical guidance for doctors in low and middle income countries treating patients with sepsis, and highlights areas for further research and discussion. <br/><br/>Listed by <a href="https://unglue.it/work/456845/">Unglue.it</a>.</div></Text></TextContent><SupportingResource><ResourceContentType>01</ResourceContentType><ContentAudience>00</ContentAudience><ResourceMode>03</ResourceMode><ResourceVersion><ResourceForm>01</ResourceForm><ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceVersionFeatureType>01</ResourceVersionFeatureType><FeatureValue>D502</FeatureValue></ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceLink>https://tieulgnu.s3.amazonaws.com/cache/e8/58/e858da5e8ab0499fb030a473ad3c72fe.jpg</ResourceLink></ResourceVersion></SupportingResource></CollateralDetail><PublishingDetail><Publisher><PublishingRole>01</PublishingRole><PublisherName>Springer</PublisherName></Publisher><PublishingStatus>00</PublishingStatus><PublishingDate><PublishingDateRole>01</PublishingDateRole><Date>20190208</Date></PublishingDate></PublishingDetail><ProductSupply><Market><Territory><RegionsIncluded>WORLD</RegionsIncluded></Territory></Market><SupplyDetail><Supplier><SupplierRole>11</SupplierRole><SupplierName>Unglue.it</SupplierName><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">pdf file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/290429/</WebsiteLink></Website></Supplier><ProductAvailability>20</ProductAvailability><Price><PriceType>01</PriceType><PriceAmount>0.00</PriceAmount><CurrencyCode>USD</CurrencyCode></Price></SupplyDetail></ProductSupply></Product><Product><RecordReference>it.unglue.work.486856.654189</RecordReference><NotificationType>03</NotificationType><ProductIdentifier><ProductIDType>01</ProductIDType><IDTypeName>unglue.it edition id</IDTypeName><IDValue>654189</IDValue></ProductIdentifier><DescriptiveDetail><ProductComposition>00</ProductComposition><ProductForm>ED</ProductForm><ProductFormDetail>E107</ProductFormDetail><EpubLicense><EpubLicenseName>CC BY</EpubLicenseName><EpubLicenseExpression><EpubLicenseExpressionType>01</EpubLicenseExpressionType><EpubLicenseExpressionLink>https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/</EpubLicenseExpressionLink></EpubLicenseExpression></EpubLicense><TitleDetail><TitleType>01</TitleType><TitleElement><TitleElementLevel>01</TitleElementLevel><TitleText>Topics in Local Anesthetics</TitleText></TitleElement></TitleDetail><Contributor><SequenceNumber>1</SequenceNumber><ContributorRole>B01</ContributorRole><PersonName>Víctor M. Their mechanism of action on the cell membrane produces anesthesia, analgesia, and side effects that can be catastrophic. Other effects such as antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antineoplastic, and other therapeutic results have also been found and are still under investigation. Pharmacological advances in local anesthetics, the use of adjuvant drugs, and new regional anesthesia techniques have resulted in greater efficacy and safety for patients.Written by authors from around the world, this book examines selected topics on local anesthetics and their current use in clinical practice.<br/><br/>Listed by <a href="https://unglue.it/work/486856/">Unglue.it</a>.</div></Text></TextContent><SupportingResource><ResourceContentType>01</ResourceContentType><ContentAudience>00</ContentAudience><ResourceMode>03</ResourceMode><ResourceVersion><ResourceForm>01</ResourceForm><ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceVersionFeatureType>01</ResourceVersionFeatureType><FeatureValue>D502</FeatureValue></ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceLink>https://tieulgnu.s3.amazonaws.com/cache/1b/84/1b84077ef05524c04a14a29f3a07f24a.jpg</ResourceLink></ResourceVersion></SupportingResource></CollateralDetail><PublishingDetail><Publisher><PublishingRole>01</PublishingRole><PublisherName>IntechOpen</PublisherName></Publisher><PublishingStatus>00</PublishingStatus><PublishingDate><PublishingDateRole>01</PublishingDateRole><Date>2020</Date></PublishingDate></PublishingDetail><ProductSupply><Market><Territory><RegionsIncluded>WORLD</RegionsIncluded></Territory></Market><SupplyDetail><Supplier><SupplierRole>11</SupplierRole><SupplierName>Unglue.it</SupplierName><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">pdf file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/321317/</WebsiteLink></Website></Supplier><ProductAvailability>20</ProductAvailability><Price><PriceType>01</PriceType><PriceAmount>0.00</PriceAmount><CurrencyCode>USD</CurrencyCode></Price></SupplyDetail></ProductSupply></Product><Product><RecordReference>it.unglue.work.486244.653577</RecordReference><NotificationType>03</NotificationType><ProductIdentifier><ProductIDType>01</ProductIDType><IDTypeName>unglue.it edition id</IDTypeName><IDValue>653577</IDValue></ProductIdentifier><DescriptiveDetail><ProductComposition>00</ProductComposition><ProductForm>ED</ProductForm><ProductFormDetail>E107</ProductFormDetail><EpubLicense><EpubLicenseName>CC BY</EpubLicenseName><EpubLicenseExpression><EpubLicenseExpressionType>01</EpubLicenseExpressionType><EpubLicenseExpressionLink>https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/</EpubLicenseExpressionLink></EpubLicenseExpression></EpubLicense><TitleDetail><TitleType>01</TitleType><TitleElement><TitleElementLevel>01</TitleElementLevel><TitleText>Topics in Spinal Anaesthesia</TitleText></TitleElement></TitleDetail><Contributor><SequenceNumber>1</SequenceNumber><ContributorRole>B01</ContributorRole><PersonName>Víctor M.
