Under the uniting thread of mathematical development, we hope to connect researchers from various backgrounds to provide an integrated view of abstract mathematical cognition. Much progress has been made in the last 20 years on how numeracy is acquired. Experimental psychology has brought to light the fact that numerical cognition stems from spatial cognition. The findings from neuroimaging and single cell recording experiments converge to show that numerical representations take place in the intraparietal sulcus. Further research has demonstrated that supplementary neural networks might be recruited to carry out subtasks; for example, the retrieval of arithmetic facts is done by the angular gyrus. Now that the neural networks in charge of basic mathematical cognition are identified, we can move onto the stage where we seek to understand how these basics skills are used to support the acquisition and use of abstract mathematical concepts.<br/><br/>Listed by <a href="https://unglue.it/work/301971/">Unglue.it</a>.</div></Text></TextContent><SupportingResource><ResourceContentType>01</ResourceContentType><ContentAudience>00</ContentAudience><ResourceMode>03</ResourceMode><ResourceVersion><ResourceForm>01</ResourceForm><ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceVersionFeatureType>01</ResourceVersionFeatureType><FeatureValue>D502</FeatureValue></ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceLink>https://encrypted.google.com/books?id=E0hADgAAQBAJ&amp;printsec=frontcover&amp;img=1&amp;zoom=1</ResourceLink></ResourceVersion></SupportingResource></CollateralDetail><PublishingDetail><Publisher><PublishingRole>01</PublishingRole><PublisherName>Frontiers Media SA</PublisherName></Publisher><PublishingStatus>00</PublishingStatus><PublishingDate><PublishingDateRole>01</PublishingDateRole><Date>20160809</Date></PublishingDate></PublishingDetail><ProductSupply><Market><Territory><RegionsIncluded>WORLD</RegionsIncluded></Territory></Market><SupplyDetail><Supplier><SupplierRole>11</SupplierRole><SupplierName>Unglue.it</SupplierName><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">epub file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/428260/</WebsiteLink></Website><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">mobi file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/315752/</WebsiteLink></Website><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">pdf file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/312084/</WebsiteLink></Website></Supplier><ProductAvailability>20</ProductAvailability><Price><PriceType>01</PriceType><PriceAmount>0.00</PriceAmount><CurrencyCode>USD</CurrencyCode></Price></SupplyDetail></ProductSupply></Product><Product><RecordReference>it.unglue.work.451536.610912</RecordReference><NotificationType>03</NotificationType><ProductIdentifier><ProductIDType>01</ProductIDType><IDTypeName>unglue.it edition id</IDTypeName><IDValue>610912</IDValue></ProductIdentifier><ProductIdentifier><ProductIDType>03</ProductIDType><IDValue>9781783747764</IDValue></ProductIdentifier><DescriptiveDetail><ProductComposition>00</ProductComposition><ProductForm>ED</ProductForm><ProductFormDetail>E107</ProductFormDetail><EpubLicense><EpubLicenseName>CC BY</EpubLicenseName><EpubLicenseExpression><EpubLicenseExpressionType>01</EpubLicenseExpressionType><EpubLicenseExpressionLink>https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/</EpubLicenseExpressionLink></EpubLicenseExpression></EpubLicense><TitleDetail><TitleType>01</TitleType><TitleElement><TitleElementLevel>01</TitleElementLevel><TitleText>Advanced Problems in Mathematics</TitleText></TitleElement></TitleDetail><Contributor><SequenceNumber>1</SequenceNumber><ContributorRole>A01</ContributorRole><PersonName>Stephen Siklos</PersonName><PersonNameInverted>Siklos, Stephen</PersonNameInverted></Contributor><Language><LanguageRole>01</LanguageRole><LanguageCode>eng</LanguageCode></Language><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>04</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>Algebra</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>04</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>Arithmetic</SubjectHeadingText></Subject><Subject><SubjectSchemeIdentifier>20</SubjectSchemeIdentifier><SubjectHeadingText>Calculus &amp; STEP is an examination used by Cambridge Colleges for conditional offers in mathematics. They are also used by some other UK universities and many mathematics departments recommend that their applicants practice on the past papers even if they do not take the examination.Advanced Problems in Mathematics bridges the gap between school and university mathematics, and prepares students for an undergraduate mathematics course. The questions analysed in this book are all based on past STEP questions and each question is followed by a comment and a full solution. The comments direct the reader’s attention to key points and put the question in its true mathematical context. The solutions point students to the methodology required to address advanced mathematical problems critically and independently. This book is a must read for any student wishing to apply to scientific subjects at university level and for anyone interested in advanced mathematics.<br/><br/>Listed by <a href="https://unglue.it/work/451536/">Unglue.it</a>.</div></Text></TextContent><SupportingResource><ResourceContentType>01</ResourceContentType><ContentAudience>00</ContentAudience><ResourceMode>03</ResourceMode><ResourceVersion><ResourceForm>01</ResourceForm><ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceVersionFeatureType>01</ResourceVersionFeatureType><FeatureValue>D502</FeatureValue></ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceLink>https://tieulgnu.s3.amazonaws.com/cache/0e/54/0e542c6b4980c6b0b5e75267cdcbdcb1.jpg</ResourceLink></ResourceVersion></SupportingResource></CollateralDetail><PublishingDetail><Publisher><PublishingRole>01</PublishingRole><PublisherName>Open Book Publishers</PublisherName></Publisher><PublishingStatus>00</PublishingStatus><PublishingDate><PublishingDateRole>01</PublishingDateRole><Date>20191016</Date></PublishingDate></PublishingDetail><ProductSupply><Market><Territory><RegionsIncluded>WORLD</RegionsIncluded></Territory></Market><SupplyDetail><Supplier><SupplierRole>11</SupplierRole><SupplierName>Unglue.it</SupplierName><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">pdf file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/285978/</WebsiteLink></Website></Supplier><ProductAvailability>20</ProductAvailability><Price><PriceType>01</PriceType><PriceAmount>0.00</PriceAmount><CurrencyCode>USD</CurrencyCode></Price></SupplyDetail></ProductSupply></Product><Product><RecordReference>it.unglue.work.554526.742996</RecordReference><NotificationType>03</NotificationType><ProductIdentifier><ProductIDType>01</ProductIDType><IDTypeName>unglue.it edition id</IDTypeName><IDValue>742996</IDValue></ProductIdentifier><DescriptiveDetail><ProductComposition>00</ProductComposition><ProductForm>ED</ProductForm><ProductFormDetail>E107</ProductFormDetail><EpubLicense><EpubLicenseName>CC BY</EpubLicenseName><EpubLicenseExpression><EpubLicenseExpressionType>01</EpubLicenseExpressionType><EpubLicenseExpressionLink>https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/</EpubLicenseExpressionLink></EpubLicenseExpression></EpubLicense><TitleDetail><TitleType>01</TitleType><TitleElement><TitleElementLevel>01</TitleElementLevel><TitleText>Fuzzy Logic and Soft Computing &amp;ndash; Dedicated to the Centenary of the Birth of Lotfi A. textformat="05"><div>Quantum field theory has achieved some extraordinary successes over the past sixty years; however, it retains a set of challenging problems. It is not yet able to describe gravity in a mathematically consistent manner. CP violation remains unexplained. Grand unified theories have been eliminated by experiment, and a viable unification model has yet to replace them. Even the highly successful quantum chromodynamics, despite significant computational achievements, struggles to provide theoretical insight into the low-energy regime of quark physics, where the nature and structure of hadrons are determined. The only proposal for resolving the fine-tuning problem, low-energy supersymmetry, has been eliminated by results from the LHC. Since mathematics is the true and proper language for quantitative physical models, we expect new mathematical constructions to provide insight into physical phenomena and fresh approaches for building physical theories.<br/><br/>Listed by <a href="https://unglue.it/work/562090/">Unglue.it</a>.</div></Text></TextContent><SupportingResource><ResourceContentType>01</ResourceContentType><ContentAudience>00</ContentAudience><ResourceMode>03</ResourceMode><ResourceVersion><ResourceForm>01</ResourceForm><ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceVersionFeatureType>01</ResourceVersionFeatureType><FeatureValue>D502</FeatureValue></ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceLink>https://tieulgnu.s3.amazonaws.com/cache/2b/75/2b759c8bb6d153509d68b9f720573699.jpg</ResourceLink></ResourceVersion></SupportingResource></CollateralDetail><PublishingDetail><Publisher><PublishingRole>01</PublishingRole><PublisherName>MDPI - Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute</PublisherName></Publisher><PublishingStatus>00</PublishingStatus><PublishingDate><PublishingDateRole>01</PublishingDateRole><Date>2022</Date></PublishingDate></PublishingDetail><ProductSupply><Market><Territory><RegionsIncluded>WORLD</RegionsIncluded></Territory></Market><SupplyDetail><Supplier><SupplierRole>11</SupplierRole><SupplierName>Unglue.it</SupplierName><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">pdf file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/396047/</WebsiteLink></Website></Supplier><ProductAvailability>20</ProductAvailability><Price><PriceType>01</PriceType><PriceAmount>0.00</PriceAmount><CurrencyCode>USD</CurrencyCode></Price></SupplyDetail></ProductSupply></Product><Product><RecordReference>it.unglue.work.352782.490790</RecordReference><NotificationType>03</NotificationType><ProductIdentifier><ProductIDType>01</ProductIDType><IDTypeName>unglue.it edition id</IDTypeName><IDValue>490790</IDValue></ProductIdentifier><DescriptiveDetail><ProductComposition>00</ProductComposition><ProductForm>ED</ProductForm><ProductFormDetail>E107</ProductFormDetail><EpubLicense><EpubLicenseName>PD-US</EpubLicenseName><EpubLicenseExpression><EpubLicenseExpressionType>01</EpubLicenseExpressionType><EpubLicenseExpressionLink>https://creativecommons.org/about/pdm</EpubLicenseExpressionLink></EpubLicenseExpression></EpubLicense><TitleDetail><TitleType>01</TitleType><TitleElement><TitleElementLevel>01</TitleElementLevel><TitleText>Short Cuts in Figures to which is added many useful tables and formulas written so that he who runs may read</TitleText></TitleElement></TitleDetail><Contributor><SequenceNumber>1</SequenceNumber><ContributorRole>A01</ContributorRole><PersonName>A. Arising in response to a limited National Curriculum, and engaged with secondary schooling for those aged 11 ̶ 14 (Key Stage 3) in particular, this handbook for teachers will help them broaden and enrich their students’ mathematical education. It avoids specifying how to teach, and focuses instead on the central principles and concepts that need to be borne in mind by all teachers and textbook authors—but which are little appreciated in the UK at present. This study is aimed at anyone who would like to think more deeply about the discipline of ‘elementary mathematics’, in England and Wales and anywhere else. By analysing and supplementing the current curriculum, Teaching Mathematics provides food for thought for all those involved in school mathematics, whether as aspiring teachers or as experienced professionals. It challenges us all to reflect upon what it is that makes secondary school mathematics educationally, culturally, and socially important.<br/><br/>Listed by <a
