This study examines the online media campaign of the global jihadist movement. It seeks to determine whether al-Qaeda has developed a strategy for its media operations, and to what extent the jihadist media operators adhere to such a strategy. Drawing on primary sources from jihadist websites, the study identifies a number of recommendations about the use of media offered by jihadist strategists. The study goes on to examine the jihadist media companies and the material they produce and distribute online.

Analyzing online jihadist media material – including text, audio and video – the study seeks to identify primarily the modus operandi of the media campaign, target audiences, and strategic goals of communication. The study finds that the Internet, which allows the jihadists to exercise ownership and control over mass media outlets, has a wider functionality than mainstream media. Moreover, the significance of the jihadist online media campaign lies, to a large extent, in the media groups’ ability to act as authorities by setting the agenda among supporters and framing the jihad. While the campaign so far seems to have targeted mostly supporters of the global jihadist movement, a current trend points to increasing efforts to reach new groups, and specifically the West.

This study offers a comparison between the jihadist strategic recommendations and the actual jihadist use of the Internet as a media channel, and finds a certain degree of coherence between the two. Yet, as both recommendations and media activity are multi-faceted, the study concludes that there in fact exist a number of strategies, leading to a host of jihadist online media campaigns cohabitating the web. Although the study shows that the jihadists use also other media channels than the Internet, the online jihadist media campaign is in fact growing and frequently opening new fronts, thus pointing to a jihadist perception of the Internet as a purposeful vehicle for strategic communication.

This book begins with a surreptitious briefing of Dwight D. Eisenhower on the status of nuclear technology in the United States a few days after his election as President in 1952. So secret was the occasion that only Eisenhower himself and two government officials knew at the time that the meeting had taken place, much less what was revealed. Some of the infor- mation conveyed was considered too sensitive to be committed to paper, and the official who spoke with the President-elect destroyed all his notes as soon as he left the room.

The book ends in autumn 1960, just eight years later, as Eisenhower was completing his second term. By that time he had become a central figure in a growing national and international debate on the terrifying issues that could lead to nuclear war or world peace. The place of nuclear power in the world economy and in military strategy was no longer the concern of a few thousand scientists, engineers, and government officials living in se- cret conclaves sealed off from the rest of the world by elaborate security barriers. Nuclear technology had now become a part of the political, the economic, and even the social fabric of the United States and the industri- alized nations of the West.

How this remarkable change occurred in less than a decade is a question that historians have only begun to probe, and when they do they will find it a subject of extraordinary complexity and interest. As one would ex- pect, some aspects of the emergence of nuclear technology are recorded in the conventional records of national and international politics. But for an adequate understanding of the subject, historians must also dig into complex issues of economic policy, including the role of national govern- ments and private industry in developing nuclear and conventional power sources, the changing prospects of economic use of nuclear power in dif- ferent parts of the world, and the impact of technological development on these prospects.

The fear about what Iran might do with nuclear weapons is fed by the concern that Tehran has no clear reason to be pursuing nuclear weapons. The strategic rationale for Iran's nuclear program is by no means obvious. Unlike proliferators such as Israel or Pakistan, Iran faces no historic enemy who would welcome an opportunity to wipe the state off the face of the earth. Nevertheless, Iran's nuclear program poses a stark challenge to the international nonproliferation regime and raises stark shortcomings with global nonproliferation norms, namely the Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons. If the world community, led by Western countries, is unable to prevent Iranian proliferation, then it is unclear that there is much meaning to global nonproliferation norms.

After Duncan, John's foreman, shows the lad around and tells him about the troubles they have been having with a gang of timber thieves headed by Jack Barbeau, the young man begs John for a job as a guard, even though the work will require long periods of isolation in a small, remote cabin. John reluctantly agrees to give the youngster, who asks to be called Freckles, a chance. Freckles adapts quickly to the work and patrols a large area of the forest on horseback, armed with a rifle. Although John is concerned that he knows nothing of Freckles' background, Duncan assures him that he is doing a good job. One day, Freckles comes across a New York magazine editor, Alice Cooper, who is photographing birds. Alice asks Freckles to keep an eye on her niece, Chris, who lives in the area. Meanwhile, Chris hurts her ankle in a fall and is helped by a fisherman. When Freckles finds them, he tells the man that he is on private property and must leave. Freckles then returns Chris to her aunt and is surprised when she tells Alice that the fisherman was Barbeau. Later, Wessner, one of John's crew who is secretly in Barbeau's employ, comes to Freckles' cabin and attempts to bribe him to turn a blind eye to Barbeau's tree cutting, but Freckles refuses and they become involved in a fistfight that Freckles wins. John, who has witnessed the confrontation from inside the cabin, is pleased with Freckles' behavior and assures him that he will always have a job. Freckles then tells John that he learned to fight in a Chicago street gang. As the days pass, Freckles and Chris get to know each other. While patrolling one day, Freckles is surprised by Barbeau, who tells him that he is working for the wrong side. Barbeau claims that his family was liviing in the woods long before John arrived and that they only cut what they needed, while John devastates entire areas. When Freckles discusses this with Duncan, the foreman tells him not to be taken in by Barbeau's story. The next day, Freckles learns from Alice that Chris's parents intend to send her to college and that she will be leaving soon. Freckles hitches a ride into town to see her, meets her father, a friend of John, and learns that John intends to promote him to a clerk's job at the mill. Freckles and Chris have fallen in love and argue about their future together as he is convinced that college will change her. Freckles then breaks off the conversation and walks away angrily. Back in the forest, Freckles discovers that Barbeau and his crew, which now includes Wessner, are cutting prime trees and rides to the mill for help. By the time John and his men return however, Barbeau and his crew have gone. The next day, Barbeau's crew returns and Freckles fires warning shots to drive them off. When Chris comes to talk with Freckles, he sends her to bring John and the others. Barbeau then chases Freckles, catches him and draws his gun. Freckles moves to defend himself and is shot by Barbeau, but manages to return fire. Barbeau runs off as John's men arrive at the thieves's work site and a gunfight erupts, during which Duncan shoots Wessner and the others surrender. Invaders from the Infinite is a science fiction novel by author John W. Campbell, Jr.. It was simultaneously published in 1961 by Gnome Press in an edition of 4,000 copies and by Fantasy Press in an edition of 100 copies. The book was originally intended to be published by Fantasy Press, but was handed over to Gnome Press when Fantasy Press folded. Lloyd Eshbach, of Fantasy Press, who was responsible for the printing of both editions, printed the extra copies for his longtime customers. The Fantasy Press edition was issued without a dust-jacket. Eshbach eventually did produce a jacket in 1990 at the urging of George Zebrowski. The novel is an expansion of stories that originally appeared in the magazine Amazing Stories Quarterly.

E. F. Bleiler described the novel as "the early John W. Campbell story par excellence: weak novelistic skills combined with very strong speculative, imaginative theoretical physics. While one may be bored with [the] interminable lectures and rendered drowsy by the repeated space battles, but one must also admire Campbell's ingenuity in creating novel artifacts".

The novel concerns a trio of heroes, Arcot, Morey and Wade, and their attempts to help a race of superdogs.

Invaders from the Infinite is a science fiction novel by author John W. Campbell, Jr.. It was simultaneously published in 1961 by Gnome Press in an edition of 4,000 copies and by Fantasy Press in an edition of 100 copies. The book was originally intended to be published by Fantasy Press, but was handed over to Gnome Press when Fantasy Press folded. Lloyd Eshbach, of Fantasy Press, who was responsible for the printing of both editions, printed the extra copies for his longtime customers. The Fantasy Press edition was issued without a dust-jacket. Eshbach eventually did produce a jacket in 1990 at the urging of George Zebrowski. The novel is an expansion of stories that originally appeared in the magazine Amazing Stories Quarterly.

E. F. Bleiler described the novel as "the early John W. Campbell story par excellence: weak novelistic skills combined with very strong speculative, imaginative theoretical physics. Jewish soldiers fought in all armies of World War I. approximately 100,000 Jews enlisted in the German army of a population of only 500,000; of them, 12,000 were killed and thousands more severely wounded. They fought both out of patriotism for the Fatherland and from the hope that their sacrifices would end antisemitism. Unfortunately, antisemitism continued during the war (the "Jewish Census" in 1916) and even more after the war with the "stab-in-the-back" myth. 

The Jews fought back, especially the "Reich Association of Jewish Frontline Soldiers". We all know that their efforts failed.

Dr. Felix A. Theilhaber, who served as a physician during the war, wrote a short book about German Jewish aviators, emphasizing their bravery and their sacrifice. The book is quite disorganized but the reader can sense Theilhaber's anguish at the antisemitic denial of their service.
