America Throne is rebuilding her life after her father dies of cancer and her boyfriend Jasper unceremoniously dumps her - by fax. Perhaps not surprisingly, America temporarily loses the will to live and descends into a self-destructive cycle of recriminations and increasingly threatening phone calls to her recalcitrant ex. Luckily her rather more practical best friend, Sadie, is on hand to kick America out of the rut and back into shape, via Earl Grey tea, gratuitous sex and some home-made yoghurt.
