Fiction. Science Fiction. Thriller. Humor (Fiction.) HTML:Itâ??s easy to get disheartened when your planet has been blown up, the woman you love has vanished due to a misunderstanding about space/time, the spaceship you are on crashes on a remote and Bob-fearing planet, and all you have to fall back on are a few simple sandwich-making skills. However, instead of being disheartened, Arthur Dent makes the terrible mistake of starting to enjoy life a bitâ??and immediately all hell breaks loose.

Hell takes a number of forms: thereâ??s the standard Ford Prefect version, in the shape of an all-new edition of The Hitchhikerâ??s Guide to the Galaxy, and a totally unexpected manifestation in the form of a teenage girl who startles Arthur Dent by being his daughter when he didnâ??t even know he had one.

I'm very happy I listened to this series, Martin Freeman was absolutely fantastic. This might be the worst book of the series, but I enjoyed it very much anyway! ( )

This book lacks the lightness and zaniness of the previous Hitchhiker books. I basically read it because I wanted to see how the whole thing ended, and now I know. Probably should have stopped at "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish". ( )

Purchased this copy for Randy & Lee - highly recommended.

FROM AMAZON: It’s easy to get disheartened when your planet has been blown up and the woman you love has vanished due to a misunderstanding about space/time. However, instead of being disheartened, Arthur Dent makes the terrible mistake of starting to enjoy life a bit—and immediately all hell breaks loose.

I just reread the Galaxy series in order. That is the way to do it. The series has held up well to the passing of time. Still a favoite. ( )

Epigraph
Anything that happens, happens.
Anything that, in happening, causes something else to happen, causes something else to happen.
Anything that, in happening, causes itself to happen again, happens again.
It doesn't necessarily do it in chronological order, though.
Dedication
For Ron
With grateful thanks to Sue Freestone and Michael Bywater for their support, help and constructive abuse.
First words
The history of the Galaxy has got a little muddled, for a number of reasons: partly because those who are trying to keep track of it have got a little muddled, but also because some very muddling things have been happening anyway.
