Edited by Barbara Czarniawska and Guje Sevón, Translating Organizational Change contains the works of contributors from varying disciplines united in a common interest in the phenomenon of organizational change. The editors have no intention of formulating a single theory to explain to entirety of organizational change. Instead, contributors to this volume believe that employing various existing theories is necessary in comprehending how incongruities are important to the life of organizations. Comprehension thereby can be achieved through what Czarniawska and Sevón refer to as “little narratives,” equally well fragmented interpretations that are strung together to provide a theoretical framework. Some of these fragments include studies on phenomena in fashion, global institutions, African countries, idea-creation and idea-transmission systems in the environment etc. Coming from different directions, these works are come together in a thoughtfully curated “theoretical collage” that brings to light a multitude of prisms through which to look at organizational change.
