Lenin y el leninismo en América Latina

Lenin y el leninismo en América Latina

To commemorate the centenary of the deaths of Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov and Lenin in 2024, the journals Izquierdas (Lefts); Archivos de historia del movimiento obrero y la izquierda (a publication of the Center for Historical Studies of Workers and the Left/CEHTI), and América Latina (published by the Russian Academy of Sciences) called for proposals that would shed light on the impact that the figure and work of the leader of the 1917 Russian Revolution and influential political thinker of the Marxist left had on Latin America. The result of this invitation is the collective text we are now presenting. Our concern was eminently historiographical, that is, to provide an opportunity to publicize works that focused on the figure of Lenin, a point of attention regarding the reception and uses that took place in partisan, intellectual, cultural, and creative circles of Latin American organizations and personalities that were not necessarily communist or Leninist. We have managed to gather a dozen valuable contributions from authors from different latitudes (Mexico, Russia, Spain, Argentina, Chile), which cover part of the vastness of signs and expressions that motivated the leader of the Bolsheviks in our region.
