Title in English: Linguistic politeness as an aspect of Russian language learning in Czech schools This publication presents empirical research on linguistic politeness in the Russian language as observed in interactions of Czech lower-secondary school pupils after completing the Russian language course. Furthermore, the publication includes the learners' opinions on expressions of politeness during communication situations, and it also presents the opinions of lower-secondary school teachers regarding teaching linguistic politeness in the Russian language. The theoretical foundation of this study focuses on linguistic politeness as pragmatic category and sociolinguistic category in the context of foreign language didactics. Linguistic politeness is investigated as an aspect of developing intercultural communication competence in the Russian language teaching at lower-secondary schools.
