Vicki Baum's novel Marion lebt was published in German 1942 by the Stockholm exile publisher Bermann-Fischer. Originally written in English and entiteld Marion Alive, the novel was published by Baum the same year by the New York publishing house Buchpublikationen - Metadatenformular 3 / 4 Doubleday and tells the story about the protagonist’s life, reaching from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the First World War and playing primarily in Austria, Germany and the USA. In addition to the novel’s German-language version, which has been revised by a translation editor, the volume offers an extensive contextualizing commentary.
