Slave trade was widespread in the Danish-Norwegian colonial empire. Denmark-Norway had colonies in the West Indies, where all work was done by African slaves, and they had slave forts on the African west coast. Norwegians took part in most aspects of the slave trade. In this book we get to know fourteen of them. They were governors, ship's doctors and captains; they were sailors, plantation owners and merchants.
