Ehrenamtliches Engagement in ländlichen Räumen ist Ausdruck einer aktiven Zivilgesellschaft. Die Pluralisierung von Lebensstilen sowie gesellschaftliche und demographische Veränderungsprozesse stellen etablierte Engagementpraktiken jedoch auf den Prüfstand. Insbesondere die vielfältigen Formen der Zuwanderung fordern zu Reflexionsprozessen darüber auf, wie Engagementkulturen gleichberechtigte Teilhabe beeinflussen und wie Neuzugewanderte zu aktiven Gestalter*innen demokratischer Strukturen werden können. Stefan Kordel, David Spenger und Tobias Weidinger stellen anhand einer empirischen Studie Verständnisse und Praktiken von Ehrenamt aus der Perspektive von Migrant*innen vor und leiten Potenziale für eine ortsbezogene Responsibilisierung ab.
