The increasing use of electronic health records (EHRs), propelled by the Internet and network technologies, is transforming healthcare. EHR systems facilitate a dynamic platform for users and stakeholders to interact and share information. This growth is further increased by the proliferation of smart devices, fostering a new era of knowledge sharing in healthcare. However, alongside the rapid expansion of EHR systems, concerns about individual privacy are escalating. The ease of accessing personal data makes EHR systems prime targets for sophisticated cyber attacks. Furthermore, the huge volume of data within these systems is growing exponentially, posing significant challenges in data analysis and management. EHR systems are increasingly crucial for healthcare research, with many researchers relying on this data to develop applications leveraging Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Mobile Cloud technologies. Consequently, a thorough examination and analysis of EHR systems are essential to address the various challenges inherent in healthcare systems. This book will explore and resolve these issues and challenges. It seeks contributions that discuss diverse aspects of EHR systems, including novel strategies and developments across different technologies. In addition, it will examine the impact of cutting-edge innovations on EHR systems, offering insights into the future trajectory of healthcare technology and data management.
