The Reprint, “Digital Image Processing: Technologies and Applications”, is a collection of articles dealing with some of the more recent theories and successful applications in the image processing field. The published papers included in this Reprint can be divided into three groups. The first group includes papers dealing with the development of algorithms that allow information embedding in images in an imperceptible way, which can be used in several applications, such as image protection and active authentication of images, among others, as well as the development of passive image tampering detection algorithms. The second group includes the development of algorithms for image denoising and filtering. These schemes are widely used in image enhancement, pattern recognition, and camera linking, among other applications. Finally, the third group includes theoretical developments for improving image processing schemes, as well as the contribution of image processing schemes in the medical field. We expect that each of the articles included in this Reprint will contribute to the development of this important field.
