The volume celebrates the fifty-year history of the Vascular Surgery Unit of the University of Florence, tracing its scientific, clinical, and academic development and highlighting its contribution to the advancement of the discipline at both national and international levels. Over the past half century, the Center has accompanied and often anticipated major changes in vascular medicine, from traditional reconstructive surgery to endovascular techniques, while promoting multidisciplinary integration, research, and education. A pivotal role was played by the founding Masters, particularly Professors Domenico Bertini and Carlo Pratesi, who provided solid foundations and international recognition to the School. The book also acknowledges the contribution of all healthcare professionals involved and looks to the future as an ongoing challenge of innovation and growth.
