This volume presents a curated selection of architectural works in Lazio, all characterized by 'lightweight prefabrication' and its varius technical interpretations. While focusing on construction projects from the latter half of the twentieth century, the collection includes Hadrian’s Villa as a notable exception; though distinct from the period’s aesthetic, it is fundamentally linked to the concept of prefabrication. The featured works, primarily located in Rome, are analyzed through their impact on architectural imagery, technical evolution, site management, and the professional development of both designers and contractors. Finally, the text introduces the CALAXXI website—an open-access digital archive of case studies and documentation.
