This volume brings together the contributions presented at the international seminar “In Dialogue with the West: Renaissance and Renovatio in Sixteenth-Century Russia”, held in Florence (April 27 and 28, 2023), and aims to shed new light on Russia’s cultural relations with the Italian peninsula and the Western world in general, already been the subject of previous studies. Offering an interdisciplinary overview of interactions that goes beyond traditional approaches, thanks to the diverse expertise of the contributors, the volume highlights some of the fundamental issues, methodological aspects, and interpretative keys that will be very useful for future research.
