This work addresses the renewal and strengthening of educational policies and academic structures in Higher Education institutions from an integral, ethical, and contextualized perspective. It gathers contributions from renowned authors from Universidad Metropolitana del Ecuador, Universidad de Cienfuegos “Carlos Rafael Rodríguez” (Cuba), Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo (Mexico), and other institutions from Ecuador; generating a plural, intercultural, and collaborative dialogue that enriches the analysis of educational processes in Latin America and the Caribbean. The text explores the epistemic foundations of the social dimension of education and highlights the importance of research skills in the initial and ongoing training of teachers and university students, emphasizing formative research as a transversal axis of the curriculum in higher education. It also incorporates innovative approaches such as neurodidactics to improve teacher training and examines factors influencing student retention through professional reaffirmation. A key component is the critical analysis of the ethical and legal challenges arising from the use of generative artificial intelligence in educational research, along with its pedagogical integration in specific areas such as programming teaching. Finally, the book addresses the process of professionalization and continuous improvement as an essential driver for pedagogical enhancement. This book is a valuable resource for researchers and educators interested in linking theory, research, and transformative action, promoting innovative, inclusive higher education committed to the social and educational realities of the region.
