This book invites a reconsideration of agricultural production paradigms in a context where consumers demand high-quality food cultivated under environmentally responsible practices. Focusing on the Dudaim variety, considered a highly valuable agricultural heritage, the work demonstrates how the use of compost, bokashi, and biol not only increases crop productivity but also strengthens the sustainability of agricultural systems. The study was conducted in the canton of Buena Fe, Los Ríos province, Ecuador, a region recognized for its productive richness and as a privileged setting for innovation and tradition. The research, designed under a rigorous experimental model, yields revealing results. Compost enhances vegetative growth and fruit weight, bokashi improves pulp quality and melon diameter, while biol increases sweetness and soluble solids, a key attribute for meeting increasingly demanding markets. These findings go beyond the academic sphere, providing farmers with practical tools to decide which fertilizer to use according to their production goals, optimizing resources and reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers that have degraded soils and increased costs. More than a technical text, this book is a manifesto for smart agriculture, capable of balancing tradition, science, and sustainability. From the agricultural heart of Los Ríos, it demonstrates that the Dudaim melon can drive competitiveness, resilience, and cultural pride. In this way, the work charts an inspiring path toward profitable and environmentally respectful production systems.
