The book, Cardiomyopathy - A Comprehensive Overview , aims to explore mechanisms and forms of cardiomyopathy that may not always be the focus of routine discussions or the day-to-day work of many specialists. Ongoing research continues to elucidate the pathophysiological processes involved in cardiomyopathy, including those that sustain integrated circulatory changes once the disease has developed, as well as the molecular, cellular, and tissue-level mechanisms that contribute to its initiation and progression. Some of these recent scientific advances are also addressed in several chapters. The topics covered include an exploration of immune mechanisms that play important roles in the development of primary cardiomyopathies, as well as discussions of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, infiltrative cardiomyopathies, and specific aspects of myocardial changes in aortic stenosis and atrial cardiomyopathies. We hope these topics will be interesting and intriguing to readers and will facilitate further discussion and investigation in this field.
