Pigmentation Disorders

0 Ungluers have Faved this Work
Melanin governs the color of human skin, hair, and eyes. Disruption of its synthesis, transport, or melanocyte survival leads to disorders ranging from melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation to vitiligo and albinism. Causes include ultraviolet damage, hormonal changes, drugs, metabolic deficits, genetic mutations, and autoimmune attacks. Beyond cosmetic concern, dyschromia correlates with photo-oncogenic risk, impaired barrier function, and substantial psychosocial morbidity. The chapters will explore pathophysiology, advanced, cutting-edge diagnostics, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions, equipping clinicians with targeted, patient-centered strategies and new research topics. This book foreshadows a paradigm shift from pigment camouflage to molecular restoration.
