Protective coatings are everywhere; in fact, they are part of our daily lives. Although they are used extensively, we often do not even notice their functionality. From a technical standpoint, coating selection is based on functionality, surface preparation, and application method. Protective coatings are characterized by their versatility in terms of colors, thicknesses, ease of application, and other factors. The progress of science and technology has led humanity to expose metals and other substrates to extreme conditions, and the science of coatings has advanced to protect them from these conditions. The current trend in coating production and development prioritizes low environmental impact while maintaining optimal performance and ecological acceptability. Validating technological developments involves accelerated testing. This book offers a broad overview of coatings from various perspectives. Thanks to contributions from authors around the world, this book results in a truly global and diverse approach.
