The aim of this volume, which consists of twenty-nine primary sources and one analytical article, is twofold: on the one hand, to analyze the dynamics of the capitalist mode of production through the reception of the economic works of Karl Marx—particularly the three volumes of Capital: A Critique of Political Economy and the three volumes of Theories of Surplus Value—by his disciples from his death until the First World War, and on the other hand, to investigate how these disciples applied Marx's economic categories to the analysis of the highest phase—and therefore the current period—of capitalism: imperialism.
