The role played by women in the process of European integration has long been relegated to the margins of historical narrative and remains insufficiently recognized today. This volume offers a fresh perspective on women’s contributions to the construction of the European Community: the essays collected here approach the subject from various angles, highlighting the breadth of women's participation and the originality of their thinking in the effort to build a common European home. They introduce arguments and sensibilities generally absent from mainstream historical narratives, which remain heavily focused on male figures. The result is a rich, multi-layered interpretive framework in which women's contributions emerge as a structural and indispensable component of the European project.
