The book Experimental Didactics of Natural Sciences: Theory, Practice, and Context in Teacher Education proposes a profound transformation in the way Natural Sciences are taught and learned: replacing the passive transmission of knowledge with a learning approach in which observing, experimenting, investigating, and understanding reality constitute inseparable dimensions of scientific education. Centered on the Angolan educational context and the experience of Namibe, the book demonstrates that teaching Natural Sciences requires bringing knowledge closer to life and transforming the classroom, laboratory, field, and surrounding environment into interconnected spaces for discovery and learning. The book examines the didactic foundations of the experimental education of future teachers, addressing independent work, metacognition, self-regulation, the relationship between theory and practice, and the progressive development of autonomy. The diagnostic assessment reveals limitations in the guidance, implementation, and monitoring of experimental activities, reinforcing the need to move beyond reproductive practices and promote students’ conscious participation. As its main contribution, the book presents a methodology that systematically integrates Biology laboratory practices and field activities, linking planning, guidance, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation with other Natural Sciences disciplines. The proposal transforms experimentation into a means of developing scientific skills, investigative thinking, cognitive independence, and professional competencies. Expert evaluation and partial implementation demonstrated improvements in teacher preparation, as well as in students’ motivation, participation, and autonomy and in the integration of theory and practice. More than teaching Natural Sciences content, the book prepares teachers to encourage inquiry, investigate life, and transform Angolan educational reality through science, with scientific rigor, creativity, and a commitment to educational development.
