The development of human and educational sciences in the XXI century presents an epistemic paradox: although the amount of data, publications and technological tools has grown exponentially, the ontological and methodological understanding of how knowledge is constructed in these areas remains in tension and fragmentation. For years, research in the humanities and education has oscillated between imitating the positivist canons of mechanistic sciences and an interpretative dispersion that, at times, lacked methodological rigor. Today, the emergence of digital technologies, decolonial perspectives, participatory action research and the need to address complex social problems require a systematized and rigorous methodological framework that adjusts to contemporary methods. This book is designed with the purpose of becoming a complete theoretical and practical reference. It does not aim to simply be a catalog of methodological formulas, but a critical map of the epistemological paths that direct the creation of scientific and humanistic knowledge. With this treatise, they analyze the connections between the classical-hermeneutic paradigms, the qualitative, quantitative and mixed perspectives, as well as the new emerging methods. The objective is to offer postgraduate students, teachers and researchers a reliable analytical compass for the formulation, implementation and assessment of research projects. Faced with the contemporary epistemological panorama, this treatise is articulated around the central question: How does the critical integration of classic and contemporary epistemological paradigms, together with the diversification of methodological designs and investigative practices, allow us to respond with theoretical and methodological rigor to the complexity of educational and humanistic phenomena in the current global context?
