The search for the "ser Latinoamericano" was a problem that concerned Ardao and it is a topic that until now provokes reflections and thoughts of various kinds. However, Ardao's contribution was based on considering that the term "Latinoamérica" had integrationist political motivations from its origins. What's more, its semantic genetic content was loaded with a clear opposition to the imposition of foreign colonial interests. Normally, anyone would think that this term is descriptive, however, Ardao showed us that the origin of such a word is linked to a persuasive definition that, despite the enormous variety of peoples living in this part of the world, sought to unify and reunite under one will the fight against certain imperialist interests.
