Health campaigns often contain texts with specialized information that may be difficult for users to understand, especially when they face communication limitations resulting from a disability or a situation of vulnerability. Such barriers can pose a challenge to health communication, particularly in emergency situations. The principles of accessible communication offer tools for deconstructing these barriers. This book proposes a theoretical framework for the design of accessible health campaigns. Based on a corpus study of audiovisual texts, it explores various strategies grounded in accessibility principles and aimed at ensuring the accessibility of health-related content for its target audiences. In addition to addressing other central aspects of accessibility, the study provides an in-depth analysis of the motivational and emotional barriers that may arise in health communication, as well as strategies for reducing them.
