This 1892 volume in the English Men of Action series is a biography of James Graham, 1st Marquess of Montrose (1612-1650), a Scottish statesman and soldier whose service for King Charles I earned him the epithet The Great Montrose. After the restoration, he entered the service of Charles II, and in attempt to win back Scotland was captured and hanged.
