Antologia grega. Epigramas votivos e morais

0 Ungluers have Faved this Work
Book five of the Greek Anthology gathers 358 votive epigrams, usually short pieces that, rather intended to be engraved or exercises upon an older model, inform about the reasons for the dedication of everyday-life objects of those who dedicate them. Simplicity and honesty are the words that better resume most of these texts. As for book X, already called Book of Palladas given the large number of poems by him that it includes, it gathers 126 epigrams that are to be read as the result of a very old tradition of gnomic and moralizing poetry. Shining optimism and obscure pessimism are the two poles one can find in these texts, with a clear preference for the last one.
