In der Untersuchung wird gezeigt, dass die gesetzliche Rentenversicherung trotz ihrer Besonderheiten - v.a. dynamische Rente im Umlageverfahren - grundsätzlich als Versicherung interpretierbar ist; das soll in der Bezeichnung Sozialversicherungsprinzip« zum Ausdruck kommen. Im folgenden wird abgeleitet, welche Leistungen diesem Prinzip widersprechen und ob unter der Voraussetzung einer Zuschussdeckung der entsprechenden Ausgaben eine klare Trennung zwischen den Aufgaben der Rentenversicherung und denen des Staates herbeigeführt werden könnte.
