Die Publikationsberatung ist ein stetig wichtiger werdendes Feld für Universitäten und ihre Bibliotheken. Sie stellt eine erfolgreiche Verbreitung von Forschungsergebnissen sicher und unterstützt vor allem junge Forschende. Die Autor*innen des Bandes liefern sowohl für Mitarbeiter*innen aus der Verwaltung als auch aus der Wissenschaft grundlegende Informationen zu zahlreichen Aspekten des wissenschaftlichen Publikationsprozesses sowie zu relevanten Themen der Publikationsberatung. Dabei vermitteln sie praktische Erfahrungen aus unterschiedlichen Einrichtungen und bieten Anregungen und Empfehlungen für Angebote zur Publikationsunterstützung: grundlegendes Know-how für den Auf- und Ausbau eines bedarfsgerechten Publikationsservices.
