In June 2019, the International Symposium on Atomic Structure and Oscillator Strengths for Fusion and Astrophysical Plasma Research (ASOS) held the 13th edition of this series. ASOS originated at the University of Lund, Sweden in 1983, and this was the first time that it was held outside of Europe and the Americas. The meeting participants were a mixed international group from Europe, the Americas and Asia. This book represents a flavor of presentations made by internationally renowned experts, in a variety of fields relevant to the ASOS community. The book contains a special contribution entitled “Charlotte Froese Fischer—Her Work and Her Impact”, written and presented by Professor Alan Hibbert of The Queen's University Belfast. The ASOS timing was chosen to overlap with Charlotte’s 90th birthday and a significant part of the meeting was a tribute to her work. The meeting ended with a hope to meet all the participants again in Paris in 2022.
This book is included in DOAB.
