Linked open data technologies are part of the Semantic Web and are a new way of representing content so that programs, in addition to publishing them, can understand their meanings and process them more intelligently. In this new technological paradigm, contents are independent of specific programs; can be published directly on the web and be enriched, integrated and contextualized by their original curators and/or by third parties. Likewise, they are structured in formats that allow their use by human users and computer applications. This book is aimed at information professionals, managers of collections at archival institutions, libraries and museums or information technology professionals at institutions that are developing or plan to develop projects for the digitization and publication of their collections using open interconnected data technologies.
