An essential aspect of the fine ceramics of Greek antiquity is their decorative diversity. This book represents an attempt to make this diversity usable for archaeological purposes by means of computer-assisted procedures. The detailed comparison of combinations of different ceramic decorative elements at the Gulf of Corinth during the Early Iron Age explores - in combination with network-theoretical considerations - the possibilities that such methods can yield with regard to the observation of regional interaction patterns. The question is posed whether the waters between the Peloponnese and the mainland always had a connective significance, or whether there were phases in which maritime relations seem to have had less weight.
