This work addresses the question at which interface selected interpretations of a group of heterogeneous DP modifiers arise in the nominal domain: the (non-)restrictive and the (quasi-)adverbial interpretation. The aim of the paper is to parallelize these two interpretations for prenominal adjectival and participial attributes and postnominal relative clause attributes in German and to weigh up a unified analysis at the syntax-semantics or semantics-pragmatics interface. The study thus contributes to the constitution of the meaning of DP modifiers, which are categorially and distributionally inconsistent.
