Kritische politische Theorie lässt sich nur im Plural denken: als kritische politische Theorien. Dieser Band porträtiert deshalb zentrale ideengeschichtliche und zeitgenössische Autor*innen des Diskurses kritischer politischer Theorie und stellt die konstitutive Vielfalt dieses Diskurses heraus. Der Fokus liegt nicht allein auf Politischer Philosophie, Theorie und Ideengeschichte, sondern bezieht ebenso Positionen aus der Sozialphilosophie, der Gesellschaftstheorie, den Gender Studies, den Postcolonial Studies und den Cultural Studies ein.
