Die Bewerbung kosmetischer Chirurgie erfolgt vermehrt auf eigenen Websites, auf denen Gründe für oder gegen die medizinisch invasive Körperformung reformuliert werden. Steffen Loick Molina untersucht diskursanalytisch die Plausibilisierungs- und Inszenierungsmuster solcher kosmetisch-chirurgischer Angebote und durchleuchtet die Problemerzählungen von Eingriffen am Gesicht, an der Brust sowie am Körperfett. Die Websites erweisen sich dabei als normalisierende Körpertechnologien, die auf dem Bild des sozialen Tods basieren und auf eine Resouveränisierung des menschlichen Subjekts abzielen.
