This interdisciplinary volume analyses the role of solidarity in Europe. The volume does not only include concepts of juridical perspectives and approaches of sociology and social ethics, but also presents case studies of solidarity in contemporary European and global moments of crisis, like the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine. Moreover, historical constellations such as the Western solidarity with the Polish Solidarność movement are also put into perspective. The volume contains the contributions to the 3rd Saarbrücken Europe Conference and is addressed to academics in the field of European studies in the broad sense as well as political and civil society actors. With contributions by Christian Calliess | Julia Dittel | Emmanuel Droit | Thomas Giegerich | Heinrich Kreft | Udo Lehmann | Roman Petrov | Hans-Jörg Trenz | Florian Weber
