Economic value of public spaces. Capital, valuation, management is a position that is part of a wide range of research on urban space. However, the authors go beyond the research conducted so far in the field of architecture and sociology. The book presents the economic perspective in research on public spaces, which was treated as an economic good. The purpose of the book is to identify: areas of capital accumulation that have a measurable, economic value and significance in the processes of socio-economic development; ways of estimating the value of public spaces in order to prove their importance in economic development processes; techniques and methods of coordination of management processes, i.e. models of effective management of public spaces. The publication identifies the basic capitals contained in public spaces (brands, cultural heritage, networks, social, creative and material) that determine its economic value. The logical consequence of the considerations is the second part of the book, devoted to the methods of economic valuation of public spaces. Awareness of the economic value of public spaces is a basic condition for effective management. Hence, in the third part, the reader will find business models for effective management of public spaces, presented in detail and illustrated with case studies.
