How are renewable energies being deployed in France today, with what constraints and for what results? National and European legislation sets ambitious targets for achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. However, it is up to local authorities, private operators, investors and landowners to build the installations. At a time when the development of renewable energies depends on a multiplicity of local projects bringing together coalitions of players with their own specific trajectories, is it really possible to plan the energy trajectory of a country like France? This book has a strong operational dimension. It adopts the point of view of local authorities and territories faced with these new challenges, and also takes care to integrate into the reflection the logics of state control as well as those, financial and technical, of operators. It is aimed at urban planners and developers, both public and private, as well as local authority managers in charge of transition issues. It will also be of interest to all project managers, from major industrialists to local associations, who need to find their way through the maze of procedures and territorial controversies. More broadly, by examining the gap between reality and the trajectories put forward by public policy, it will be of interest to all those concerned by the energy transition.
