The hobbit Frodo Baggins inherits a magical ring from his Uncle Bilbo. To keep this ring of power away from the Dark Lord, who would use it for evil, a fellowship of men, elves, dwarfs, hobbits and a wizard is formed. The fellowship escorts Frodo on his way to Mordor, where the Ring was forged, and the only place it can be destroyed.
