Title in English: The Role and Perspectives of Textbooks in Teaching History and Social Studies in Secondary Schools The collection opens with two conceptually focused texts, which include reflections on the educational tradition of textbooks in the Czech and Slovak contexts. This is followed by an equally significant contribution from those involved in textbook publishing, sharing their concrete experiences in creating the History for Secondary Schools series at the Brno-based Didaktis publishing house, along with a retrospective evaluation of the project. The core of the collection consists of contributions from teachers, focusing on their relationship with textbooks and insights from classroom practice.
