"Before the invention of mechanical sound recording, arrangements played a pivotal role in the dissemination and transmission of Wolfgang Amadé Mozart’s musical works. However, they remain unexplored in many respects. This conference volume is dedicated to aspects of Mozart arrangements in the 19th century, discussed at the conference of the same name held in Salzburg on November 18 and 19, 2022. The broad spectrum of content ranges from general considerations to case studies and includes methodological approaches, genre-specific questions, and the arrangement as a phenomenon of reception history and performance practice.
