Antiziganismus ist in der pädagogischen Arbeit mit Jugendlichen ein wirkmächtiger Komplex. Im Rahmen einer ethnographischen Studie zweier Jugendzentren zeigt Kathrin Schulze auf, wie sich dieser in der alltäglichen Praxis entfaltet. Sie legt dar, inwiefern sozialpädagogische Fachkräfte die Jugendlichen situativ auf der Grundlage von antiziganistischen Stereotypen differenzieren und damit diskriminierende Effekte hervorbringen. Mit dem Fokus auf die alltäglich-situative Herstellungspraxis antiziganistischer Ordnungen liefert sie einen Beitrag zur bislang noch vernachlässigten Problematisierung des Antiziganismus im Kontext der Sozialen Arbeit.
