The Lonely Way is the fifteenth volume in the historical-critical edition of Arthur Schnitzler’s early works, edited by Konstanze Fliedl. This edition explains the complex genesis and printing history of the "Play in 5 Acts," presents transcriptions of the developmental material – including facsimiles of handwritten texts – and a printed text with a critical apparatus. It also provides a cultural-historical commentary on individual passages.
