As the first comprehensive, critical overview of the early Christian interpretation of the story of the "Good Thief" in Luke 23.39-43, this monograph (published by the University of Strasbourg and distributed by Brepols) is a revised version of the author's PhD dissertation at the University of Virginia. It was been well-reviewed by international scholars in a wide variety of academic journals.

As an academic author and a passionate advocate for Open Access, I am launching this crowdfunding campaign on to provide access to this book for everyone in the world and to lead by example in my work as a Scholarly Communication Librarian in the California State University system. My hope is that a successful campaign will inspire many other faculty in the CSU to start similar campaigns to unglue their books to Open Access.

The University of Strasbourg and Brepols have set the Open Access fee at $3100, and all of the proceeds of the crowdfunding campaign will go to them.

I'm offering a premium to contributors (individuals or institutions) that contribute $100 or more to receive by mail a signed and dedicated copy of the print book. All donors can opt to have their names listed in the digital Open Access version of the book.

Why unglue this book? Have your say.

As the author, I have requested and received terms from Brepols and the University of Strasbourg to coordinate a fund-raising campaign to unglue this book and make its digital version open access for $3150.00.
